Emry grew up on a cattle ranch in Baker, Oregon, working as a cowboy and dreaming of cooking steaks someday in his own restaurant.  The rodeo and job prospects brought him to Southern California, where he met and married his wife, Sandy.  Together, they worked on catering events with The Hitching Post, a restaurant on the central coast of California.  It was here that he honed his grilling skills, doing Santa Maria style BBQ - on a vaquero inspired wood pit grill.  When they moved to NE Oregon, Emry began building his own take on those grills, and continued mastering new creations over fire.  He began catering in Walla Walla in 2011, and moved into a small cafe in Waitsburg in 2014.

Sandy began a career in wine over 20 years ago, after many years of restaurant work, tending bar and catering parties.  Tending bar at the Hitching Post in Santa Barbara County led to meeting pioneering winemakers in a newly emerging wine country, and the wine bug began.  She began taking courses and attending tastings, and soon began working at Foxen Vineyard, a funky little winery on historic Rancho Tinaquaic in Santa Maria.  After a move to the Pacific Northwest, Sandy enrolled in the Enology & Viticulture Program at Walla Walla Community College and graduated in 2006.  After 8 years at Tamarack Cellars, she is now partner with Emry in The Q.  With her unique mingling of food and wine knowledge, Sandy pairs dishes with wine to perfectly showcase and highlight the flavors of your meal.

Menus are designed individually to suit your tastes and budget.  Whenever possible, ingredients are sourced locally and seasonally to highlight the bounty of the Pacific Northwest.
